Howard M. Lorber has been our Executive Chairman of the Board since January 2007 and a director since 1987. Mr. Lorber previously served as our Chairman of the Board from 1990 through December 2006 and as our Chief Executive Officer from 1993 until December 2006. Mr. Lorber served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Vector Group Ltd., a holding company, from January 2006 to October 2024; a director from January 2001 to October 2024; and as President and Chief Operating Officer from January 2001 to December 2005. In December 2021, Vector Group Ltd. completed the spin-off of Douglas Elliman Inc. (NYSE: DOUG). Mr. Lorber served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of Douglas Elliman Inc. and Executive Chairman of its subsidiary, Douglas Elliman Realty, LLC, one of the nation’s oldest and largest real estate brokerage firms, until October 2024. Mr. Lorber served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services, Inc., an investment banking and brokerage firm, from July 2006 to December 2019 and formerly as Chairman from May 2001 to July 2006, and as a director of Borders Group, Inc., an international bookseller, from May 2010 until January 2012. From November 1994 to December 2005, Mr. Lorber served as President and Chief Operating Officer of New Valley Corporation, where he also served as a director. He is a director of Clipper Realty, Inc. In 2017, Mr. Lorber received a Presidential appointment to serve as Chairman of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
